Description

What is the KOEL Beau Merino suitable for?

The Beau Merino is a children's barefoot shoe for the cold, wet season: for the walk to daycare on grey November mornings, the playground in the drizzle and the Sunday stroll through the autumn leaves. It combines a warm lining and protection from wetness with the freedom of movement of a barefoot shoe.

Warm and protected in muddy weather: The suede and textile upper has a membrane that helps to repel water. Inside, a merino wool lining provides warmth, while the shoe remains lightweight and breathable.

Ready to go in no time: Velcro fastening and elastic shoelaces make putting on and taking off easy. This is practical when you need to get out the door quickly in the morning.

Room for little toes: The medium-width toe box gives the toes room to move naturally, and the flexible sole without a heel follows the movement of the foot. The Beau Merino is cut for narrow to normal children's feet – it is not suitable for wide feet.

In the package: 1 pair of KOEL Beau Merino, packed in our plastic-free secondary packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my child wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, absolutely. The term ‘barefoot shoe’ describes the sensation of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero drop), not the bare foot.

How much room should there be at the front of the shoe?

Allow at least 12 mm in addition to the foot length. New shoes may have 15–17 mm to leave room for growth (for beginners: the smallest size with at least 12 mm).

Is the insole removable in this shoe?

Yes, the merino insole is removable.

My child is wearing barefoot shoes for the first time – what should I look out for?

Children generally adapt to barefoot shoes faster than adults because their foot muscles have not yet weakened. Nevertheless, introduce them gradually and consult a pediatrician or orthopedist if you notice anything unusual.

Is the Beau Merino waterproof?

No, it is not waterproof, but water-repellent: The membrane helps keep out moisture on wet, cold days. For extensive puddle jumping, a Wellington boot is the better choice.
