Description

What is the Wrapt Mid Waterproof suitable for?

The Wrapt Mid Waterproof is suitable for hiking in the rain and wet everyday routes, from an after-work stroll to the walk to work. An ankle-high, waterproof shoe with the fit of the Merrell barefoot collection.

Toe freedom without a heel: The wide toe box gives your toes room, the sole has no heel. According to Merrell, the construction keeps the foot in its natural position.

Dry in the rain: Waterproof suede and a waterproof membrane keep moisture out, moisture from the inside can escape. Thanks to the full tongue, pebbles and dirt stay outside.

More protection under the foot: With a 13 mm sole and zero drop, the Wrapt Mid offers more protection than a minimalist shoe, the coarsely treaded rubber sole provides grip. In return, the sole is less flexible and the ground feel is significantly cushioned. This makes it a barefoot hiking shoe for beginners, less so for experienced barefoot runners.

In the package: 1 pair of Merrell Wrapt Mid Waterproof, packed in our plastic-free secondary packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, absolutely. The term ‘barefoot shoe’ describes the sensation of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero drop), not the need to wear them barefoot.

How much space should there be at the front of the shoe?

Allow at least 12 mm in addition to your foot length.

This is my first time wearing barefoot shoes – what should I look out for?

Muscle soreness in your calves and soles is normal for the first few weeks – your muscles will be working in a new way. Start with 30–60 minutes a day and gradually increase. If you have existing foot discomfort or joint problems, speak to your doctor or orthopedist before switching.

Are these shoes also suitable for experienced barefoot runners?

More suitable for beginners: The 13 mm sole offers more protection, but is less flexible and significantly reduces ground feel. For direct contact with the ground, a model with a thinner sole is better suited.
