Description

What is the Wrapt Mid Waterproof suitable for?

Designed for rainy days when you still want to get out – for hiking on wet trails or walking around the city. The Wrapt Mid Waterproof brings the fit of the Merrell barefoot collection into a waterproof, ankle-high shoe.

Dry feet on wet trails: A waterproof membrane keeps moisture out and allows moisture from the inside to escape, and the suede itself is also waterproof. The full-length tongue keeps pebbles and dirt out of the shoe.

Room for your toes: The wide toe box gives your toes room, and the sole gets by without a heel. The construction is designed to keep your foot in a natural position – like being barefoot, only protected.

More protection for the transition: With a 13 mm sole and zero drop, the Wrapt Mid offers more protection than a minimalist shoe, while the lugged rubber outsole provides grip. However, the sole is less flexible and significantly dampens ground feel – a barefoot hiking shoe for beginners, rather than experienced barefoot runners.

In the package: 1 pair of Merrell Wrapt Mid Waterproof, packed in our plastic-free secondary packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear socks with these shoes?

Yes, absolutely. The term ‘barefoot shoe’ describes the sensation of movement (wide toe box, thin flexible sole, zero drop), not the need to wear them barefoot.

How much space should there be at the front of the shoe?

Allow at least 12 mm in addition to your foot length.

This is my first time wearing barefoot shoes – what should I look out for?

Muscle soreness in your calves and soles is normal for the first few weeks – your muscles will be working in a new way. Start with 30–60 minutes a day and gradually increase. If you have existing foot discomfort or joint problems, speak to your doctor or orthopedist before switching.

How much ground feel does the Wrapt Mid offer?

Less than a minimalist shoe: The 13 mm high, less flexible sole offers more protection, but significantly reduces ground feel. If you are looking for direct contact with the ground, you will be better served by a model with a thinner sole.
